Lock up & Fixing Stage (Invoice on 21st Dec 2012)

Dear all, Happy New Year all. Hope you all have nice Christmas & New year with Family/ Friends.

Due to the distance from my current residency , it rather difficult for us to visit the site regularly. The bank has just paid the progress payment for the fixing stage this Monday 7th Jan 2013.

Although technically not everything they did considered completed for fixing stage.

Since fixing stage should mean when all plaster, architraves, skirting, doors, built in shelves , cabinets and cupboards are fitted and fixed into position.

I think the builder hope to install those stuff after the break as it could be stolen if they install it before they go on break. I hope they don't delay the installation just like the way they hand in the invoice for every stages.

I bet you agree with me that builder never late in submitting their invoice. Everything has been progressing really well so far.
I have been told the trades will return back to work from next week 14th Jan 2013. Here are some pictures of the house when we visited in December.

Another invoice to go , and then we are ready to move in. It's kinda difficult when you have rent and loan goes at the same time. So we are hoping we could move in asap.

Hoping it will be another 2 months maximum until the hand over... Cheers.

Week 2 (slab done)

Hi all sorry for disapearing from blog for a while. Our block has finally been slabbed.

Have a look at the pics i have taken this afternoon. The lower lever is where our garage will be. And there will be steps into the house.

One thing that we re not happy about is the fence. There is a panel which has been dented and our neighbour has complaint as well .

Hope they will be responsible for the broken panel.

Further updates

Not much has happened since my last update. We have signed the tender/final build contract and we have also received bank approval for the build.

Next we only need to hear from the builder when council approve the plan. Should approval come through this month, they would probably start the excavation in October. Meaning 98 days from October 2012 our house will be ready. Finger crossed ++++.

We have visited the land last Sunday (16.09) , to ensure the pegs are still available. Since if builder can't find these pegs when they are onsite,it's gonna cost us almost $900, just to get surveyor to re-measure the land again.

We have found 3pegs so far ,  cant find the other one....

. According to Stockland's sales person normally builder only need 3 pegs. Hopefully the three pegs will be sufficient.

Here are picture of the land n yes we have got a fence on the left side since the neighbor has settled in recently.

And the color bond fence which we share with our neighbor cost us almost $900 just for the left side.

Color selection ( week 2)

We met the eighthomes'sales person again. Today is the 2nd time we meet her n it is also the day we finalised the color selection & quote.

Here is the picture of color selection we have selected.
Color we choose for internal & external of the house. And the facade of the hose **except the color will be different.
It is totally different to other builders we have inspected before. While customer normally need to visit their head office to select the colors.
EIGHTHOMES offer us 4 different packages which colors have been pre-selected by their interior designer. For customer like me n my husband, we don't mind this method , since we believe it is more convenient.

So basically we are waiting for them to contact us  to sign the tender / contract after they have received approval fron the developer.
And then they could start the build.
Really looking forward...
Cheers
